Lavender fields list at the South of France

The southern part of France is a true paradise for those who love nature, history and good food. If you are one of them, then you should visit the lavender fields in the Provence region.

The fields are located in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur which is the south-eastern region of France. The fields are situated in the valley of the river Durance, near the mediaeval town of Sisteron. The fields cover about 100 hectares and are planted with lavender bushes that grow up to 3 metres high. The flowers bloom from June to August, giving a sweet scent to the air.

Lavender Season in Provence

The lavender season in Provence is a short 2 months between June and August. This is the perfect time to enjoy this fragrant flower. There are many gorgeous places to view lavender fields in Provence. It might be tempting to go visit the spot that is blooming the most or the one that is giving you the perfect shot. However, if it’s not peak season (too early or too late) then it doesn’t really make sense to go there & take photographs.

Ardeche lavender field – are located in the valley of the river Ardeche, near Saint-Jean-en-Royans, and they are one of the most famous attractions in France. The flowers bloom from July until September, and it’s possible for you to take a guided tour through them and learn about their history as well as how they are harvested for their essential oil.
