Paris Pre-wedding

After you decided about your photographer and saved your date, you need more things to consider before your photo session in Paris begins. To be clear, the more time you spend on preparation, the better the experience you get from your pre-wedding session.

After you have carefully selected your photographer and confirmed the date for your pre-wedding photo session in Paris, there are several other essential aspects to consider. It’s crucial to understand that the more time and effort you invest in preparation, the more rewarding and enjoyable your experience will be. Taking these additional factors into account will ensure a seamless and unforgettable pre-wedding session in the enchanting city of Paris.

Paris Pre-wedding
01. Choose your favorite locations.
First thing to decide is where you want to take photos during your photo session. Paris has millions of places, views, cafe, romantic streets, terraces, and heritage monuments. The 75% of all engagement and pre-wedding sessions starts at the vicinity of the Eiffel Tower. But not limit yourself with only that spot. There are so many locations that you can find that you fall in love with. In addition to coordinating with your photographer, you should also pay attention to other logistical considerations. This includes arranging transportation and accommodation in Paris, ensuring that you have ample time to travel between different shooting locations and have a comfortable base during your stay.

02. Time and Light
One of the most often questions that I receive is that “when we have to start our photo session” - well, it usually depends on the location you choose. For example:- To capture the best light - it is great to go on a sunrise or sunset. Photographers call it flattering light. During the day, even if the weather is good and the sun is shining, the light makes a lot of shadows and it is very hard light to work with.- To capture famous spots - wake up early. The best views to the Eiffel Tower in Paris is from Trocadero square and during the day it is thousands of people walking around which make this location almost impossible for daily photo session.

03. Timing of the day
More time you spend on photo session means more locations you can visit and more fun you can have. You need your photographer to understand expectations and make sure your photographer familiar with the location you wanted in Paris. Paris is a big city and between some locations you need to take a subway, train, taxi, etc. My suggestion is to make a choice of locations that are nearly and to have a pleasant walk between them so your photographer can capture your happy day.If you want more than a few locations, you can separate your day for Morning and Evening photo session, so it will make easy logistic during the day.

04. What to wear
Paris is known for its fashion, and you may want to dress up for your pre-wedding photos. Choose outfits that complement the location and reflect your personal style. If you plan on shooting in multiple locations, consider bringing a variety of outfits to create different looks. For the pre-wedding photo concept, it should be a beautiful wedding dress. But where to get it? The first option is to buy it at home, as in Asia countries it is more affordable and you will have a lot of time to find the right style and size. Only one bad side of this option is that you have to carry on this dress to Paris. The second option is to buy or rent your dress here, in Paris, but be prepared as it takes some time and it will cost more than carry it from your hometown. 05. Makeup & Hair
Professional make-up and hairstyle for your pre-wedding photos in Paris are not 100% needed, but I will recommend to get it. Having a professional hairstyle and makeup is a good idea, especially if you plan to visit several locations during photo session and want your hairstyle to stay same beautiful as in the morning. If you prefer doing your own makeup, consider researching makeup looks that align with your personal style and the overall theme of your pre-wedding photos.

Romantic Poses
This is what is Paris about. It is romantic and lovely. These poses evoke a sense of intimacy, tenderness, and passion, creating visually captivating images that tell a beautiful love story. From gentle embraces and soft kisses to playful interactions and stolen glances, romantic poses showcase the depth of emotion between partners. They often involve close proximity, intertwined hands, and gentle touches that convey a sense of vulnerability and closeness.

Natural.
What can be better to show your natural love between you and your spouse? Natural poses capture the genuine essence and personality of individuals, creating authentic and unguarded moments in a photoshoot. These poses focus on capturing the couple in their most natural state, allowing their true emotions and connection to shine through.

Poses in Motion.
My favorite one. It represents you and tells a story about the day and your time in Paris. Poses in motion add a dynamic and energetic element to a photoshoot. Whether it's a twirl, a jump, or a playful run, capturing the couple in motion brings a sense of liveliness and spontaneity to the photographs.

How much it cost to do a pre-wedding in Paris?

The cost of a pre-wedding photoshoot in Paris can vary depending on several factors, including the duration of the shoot, the services included, and any additional expenses incurred during the session. Here are some cost components to consider:

  1. Photographer fees – the fees charged by photographers can vary significantly based on their expertise, portfolio, and demand. Experienced photographers with a strong reputation may charge higher rates (around 300 eur/hour) compared to emerging or less-established professionals that can charge around 150 eur/hour. The most optimal package would be 4 hours photoshoot, which usually cost about 1100 eur in total.
  2. Location fees and permits – some iconic locations in Paris may require permits or have associated fees for professional photography. These costs should be factored into your budget if you plan to shoot at such locations. In my practice, we usually ignore such location, but for the client request we can go to this locations. For example if you wish to include the Palace of Versailles and its gardens in your pre-wedding photos, there are separate entry fees and restrictions for professional photography.
  3. Makeup and hairstyling –  if you opt for professional makeup and hairstyling services, there will be additional costs. Rates can vary based on the complexity of the desired look and the expertise of the makeup artist. Make sure to put around 300 eur into your budget.
  4. Transportation and accommodation – if you are traveling to Paris specifically for the photoshoot, you will need to consider transportation costs (flights, trains, etc.) and accommodation expenses during your stay. Yes, this is the must have. But if you already booked all your holiday trip and Paris is one of your destination, then you may consider to add some extra for taxi and transportation between locations, I would say add around 50 eur in total.
  5. Outfits and accessories – the cost of pre-wedding outfits, including wedding gowns, suits, and accessories, should be taken into account. Depending on your preferences and budget, you can choose to rent or purchase these items. While prices can range significantly, on average, renting a wedding dress in Paris can cost anywhere from €500 to €2,500 or more.

It is important to note that the costs mentioned above are general considerations, and the actual cost will vary based on your specific requirements and choices. It is recommended to discuss pricing and packages with potential photographers and vendors to get a better understanding of the costs involved.
