Stephanie & Greg
Château La Colombière wedding, Dordogne
Stephanie and Greg married at Château La Colombière, in the Dordogne, on a warm day in May. They are very different and complete each other perfectly. Greg is a photographer, which made my job a real challenge, and Stephanie made the table decorations with her own hands.
They married under a flower arch beneath the trees, with strings playing on the lawn, and spent the afternoon with their guests in the gardens. Dinner was in a tent on the grass, and then came the speeches: we all cried and laughed at the same time. The night ended in the barn and with a tunnel of sparklers.

Morning
Greg and his groomsmen got ready in a house of old stone walls and wooden stairs: velvet jackets, black bow ties, sunglasses in gift boxes and a lot of laughing in front of the mirror. When they were dressed, they walked out across the lawn together.

Across the house
Stephanie got ready in a room of flowered armchairs, with her hair in rollers and her dress waiting on a chair. Her bouquet was white flowers and greenery. Her bridesmaids laced up the corset of her dress, and she checked everything once in the old gilded mirror.

The ceremony
The ceremony was under a big tree in the garden, at an arch of white flowers, with a violinist and a cellist playing and fans waiting on the chairs. Greg wiped away a tear at the arch, and they walked back down the aisle through confetti.

What couples say
“Dina was our Photographer in June '25 in the Dordogne, and she was amazing. So easy to meet her online, organise all of the details easily, and then send her photos we wanted in preparation. She also worked really well with our videographer, and made sure we got every photo we needed. Highly recommend!!”

Drinks and portraits
Champagne and canapés went round on the lawn, and the bridesmaids spread Stephanie’s long veil in front of the climbing roses. Then we took a short walk: the stone tower, a white house with a cypress, a wall in striped shadow and a few minutes alone.

Dinner
Stephanie threw her bouquet on the lawn, then everyone went into the tent. She had made the decorations herself: a seating plan called Find your destination, a little Eiffel Tower and postcards, white flowers in small vases. Guests waved their napkins, and the food came off the grill outside.

The speeches
The speeches were under the wooden pergola, and they are what I remember most about this wedding: we all cried and laughed at the same time. Greg took the microphone himself, the guests cheered him on, and afterwards chocolate cake came out along the table.

Into the night
The first dance was in the old barn under its wooden beams. The dance floor filled quickly, Greg’s friends threw him into the air, and the night ended outside with a tunnel of sparklers.

Photographing at Château La Colombière

The estate.
Pale stone buildings, a tower with a pointed roof and open countryside all around. The house, gardens, barn and lawns sit close together, so guests can wander all day without going far.
Ceremonies.
The gardens and their old trees are made for an outdoor ceremony. Stephanie and Greg married at a flower arch under a big tree, which kept everyone in soft shade.
Portraits.
Climbing roses on the stone walls, a gravel drive with a fountain and a cypress against a white house: a lot of variety within a few minutes’ walk.
The evening.
A tent on the lawn for dinner, a wooden pergola for the speeches and an old barn with beams for dancing, with the courtyard outside for sparklers at the end of the night.
