Wedding photographer in Nice

Nice is the capital of the French Riviera, with an old town below Castle Hill, the Promenade des Anglais along the bay, and hill villages such as Saint-Paul-de-Vence a short drive inland. Nice Côte d’Azur airport sits on the west side of the city, about half an hour from Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

On the Riviera I’ve photographed at a family-owned villa in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Christina and Emil came from Sweden; a Swedish priest led the ceremony on a green terrace above the town, and dinner was at a Michelin-starred restaurant. For couples who would rather have a château, Château de Robernier is inland in the Var.

The city

The old town, Castle Hill and the seafront are best early in the morning, before the heat and the crowds, for an engagement session or portraits the day before.

The hill villages

Saint-Paul-de-Vence sits on its ridge behind old ramparts, with villas and terraces looking out over green hills.

Heat

May to June and September to early October are the most comfortable. July and August work too, with the ceremony out of the strongest sun and portraits when the light softens.

Getting around

The ceremony, portraits and dinner can be in different places here, as they were in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, so I build the transfers into the timeline.
